Greece has submitted its fourth request for the disbursement of 1 billion euros in grants from the European Union's Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF).
The request, submitted on Thursday by Alternate Finance Minister Nikos Papathanasis, pertains to the achievement of 20 milestones and targets.
This request follows an earlier application in April for the disbursement of 2.3 billion euros from the RRF loan arm, which was made after Greece achieved its goal of signing RRF loan contracts ahead of schedule. Together, these requests bring the total expected disbursements to Greece from the RRF to 3.3 billion euros in the coming months.
In addition to the grant request, Greece has also sought targeted technical modifications to its "Greece 2.0" National Plan, which outlines the country's strategy for utilising the RRF funds to support economic recovery and development. The European Commission will review these requests to ensure they meet the RRF's requirements and objectives.
