The Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY) issued a warning on the impending transport of dust from the coast of Africa to Greece, starting from Thursday and reaching peak concentrations on Friday and Saturday.

Compared to previous episodes, the amount of dust expected this weekend will be relatively smaller, primarily affecting regions in the west and south of the country, notably the Peloponnese and Crete.

The phenomenon, as outlined in the general forecasts by EMY, is under close monitoring by relevant state authorities.

To alleviate concerns among citizens regarding specialised meteorological terminology, such as the term "aerohimarros," it is clarified that this refers to a river of air in the upper atmosphere that historically carries warm masses and dust particles.

For further clarification and visual representation of predicted dust concentrations, citizens are encouraged to watch the video in the below link and refer to additional information provided in relevant sources.
