At 07:57 this morning, an earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale rattled the region near Mytilene, according to reports from the Geodynamic Institute of the National Observatory of Athens.
The seismological network detected the tremor, which originated in the sea area approximately 21 kilometres southwest of Polychnitos. The epicenter of the quake was recorded at a distance of 228 kilometers northeast of Athens.
While the earthquake was relatively weak, residents in the affected areas may have felt the tremors. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely for any potential damage or aftershocks.
