During their meeting, Archbishop Hieronymos appealed against the exploitation of vulnerable populations, particularly the elderly and young children, in war zones. He also advocated for the safe return of all captives to their homes, emphasising the importance of preserving human dignity in times of crisis.
Al-Issa, in turn, commended Archbishop Hieronymos for his steadfast efforts in promoting peace worldwide, acknowledging the necessity of individuals who uphold virtuous ideals in today's tumultuous world. He highlighted the historical ties between the Orthodox Church of Greece and Islam, emphasising the significance of such interactions in fostering unity and dispelling misconceptions.
